Q: What is difference between a Catback Exhaust, Axleback Exhaust and Exhaust Muffler?
This refers which pieces of the exhaust system are being replaced.
A catback exhaust replaces all the piping, mufflers and resonators and connects to the original catalytic converter OR Y pipe. This will increase power by allowing better exhaust flow
An axleback exhaust replaces the muffler and first section of piping, typically near the axle of the vehicle. Typically less pieces then a catback. It will provide more power then a muffler by itself but not as much power as a catback.
A exhaust muffler refers to just the muffler portion of the vehicle. Typically you wont see much if any power improvement. Most noticeable change that's gained is in the sound/tone of the exhaust.
Q: Is this exhaust street legal in California or other states with strict emissions laws?
This exhaust system is designed for off-road use only and is not street legal in states with strict emissions regulations such as California. Please check local laws before installing if you're planning to use it on public roads.
